Terms and Conditions for Carolina Timber Furniture Co.

1. Ordering and Customization

- Final Sale: All custom-built items are generally non-returnable and non-refundable due to their personalized nature.

- Changes/Modifications: Modifications to an order must be made within 48 to 72 hours of placing the order. After this period, changes may not be accepted.

- Specifications: Actual dimensions of products may vary slightly (within 3/4\" to 2\") due to the handmade nature of our furniture.

- Wood Characteristics: Buyers acknowledge that real wood exhibits natural characteristics, including knots, sapwood, streaks, and varied grain patterns, which contribute to the unique beauty of each piece.

2. Payment Terms

- Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to secure a spot on our production schedule and to purchase necessary materials for your order.

- Final Payment: The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion of your order, prior to shipping or pickup.

- Late Fees: A late fee may apply if final payment is not received within 5 to 14 days after notification of completion.

3. Shipping, Delivery, and Pickup

- Delivery Estimates: Delivery timelines are provided as estimates and cannot be guaranteed.

- Inspection: Customers must inspect furniture upon delivery and report any damage within 24 hours.

- Access: It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the furniture can fit through doorways and into the intended space.

4. Warranty and Care

- \"As-Is\" Status: Products are sold \"as-is\" without express warranties, though we offer a lifetime guarantee on the structural integrity and craftsmanship of our furniture.

- Wood Movement: Customers should understand that wood is hygroscopic and may naturally expand and contract with changes in humidity; this is not considered a defect.

- Care Requirements: To maintain the condition of your furniture, the use of coasters and placemats is required to prevent heat or water damage.

- Indoor Use Only: Our furniture is designed for indoor use in temperature-controlled environments. The lifetime guarantee does not cover damage caused by acts of God, floods, fires, misuse, or neglect.

5. Cancellations

- Non-Refundable: After the initial 48-hour grace period, deposits are non-refundable.

- Fees: If cancellation is accepted after the grace period, a restocking or cancellation fee of 20% may be applied.

6. Liability Policy

- Post-Delivery Damage: Carolina Timber Furniture Co. is not liable for any damage that occurs after final delivery and inspection of the furniture.

- Injuries from Moving or Misuse: We are not liable for any injuries caused by the movement or misuse of tables and other furniture.

- Refunds Post-Acceptance: After the final inspection and acceptance of delivery by the customer, we are not liable to issue any refunds.

7. Intellectual Property

- All designs, photographs, and manufacturing methods remain the exclusive property of Carolina Timber Furniture Co. Unauthorized reproduction or use of our intellectual property is strictly prohibited.
